Leadership is the work of creating clarity, trust and conditions in which people can contribute beyond what isolated effort could achieve.
Ambition without character eventually becomes fragile. Leadership is therefore both external and internal: setting direction, building systems, having difficult conversations and continually becoming more capable of carrying responsibility.
